    The 5th State Level Selection Test (SLST),2011 is scheduled to be held in the month of May
    (Sunday),2012 for preparing panel of Assistant Teachers and Under Graduate Teachers in Recognized
    Non-Govt. aided Jr. High/High/Higher Secondary/Senior Madrasahs in West Bengal against the vacancies
    available and reported and advertised herewith. The vacancies indicated are tentative and the final reported
    vacancies in the posts of Assistant Teachers (including undergraduate teachers) for which the SLST is
    being conducted shall be published during the publication of the result of the written examination.
    Eligibility: Citizens of India may apply for a single subject in undergraduate or in pass or in
    Hons. /PG Category in Madrasah in prescribed form available from the designated branches of United
    Bank of India as mentioned in the advertisement.
    A.1Qualification Essential: i) Bachelor’s Degree with Honours or Master’s Degree in the concerned
    subject from any UGC recognized University. For Biological Science a candidate must have Bachelor’s
    Degree with Hons./Post Graduate Degree in any of the subjects viz. Zoology, Botany & Physiology. ii)
    Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.
    A. 2. Assistant Teachers in Theology/Advanced Arabic (Islam Parichay)/Arabic Madrasah:
    Qualification Essential:i) Kamil (Honours) from Aliah University or MM/MF with Kamil or MM/MF
    with Kamil(General) from West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education / Aliah University.
    ii)Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.
    B.1Qualification Essential: i)Bachelor’s Degree from any UGC recognized University having concerned
    subject as combination subject of at least 300 marks at the degree level (or 200 marks in the old 2/3 years
    Degree Course). For Pure Science group at least any two subjects from the group of Physics, Chemistry &
    Mathematics and for Bio-Science group at least any two subjects from the group of Zoology, Botany &
    Physiology must be combination of subjects at the Pass level. Special B.A. in any subject will not be
    accepted. ii) Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.

    equivalent with Degree/Diploma in Physical Education from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly
    recognized by the NCTE in the relevant academic session.

    1. Age: Minimum: 20 years as on 01.01.2012 (i.e. not born after 01.01.1992)
    Maximum : 40 years as on 01.01.2012 (i.e. not born before 01.01.1972)
    Relaxation: Relaxable upto 55 years of age for approved teaching and non-teaching staff in
    recognized non-Govt. aided Madrasahs / Schools and Sr. Madrasahs approved by the West Bengal
    Board of Madrasah Education/West Bengal Board of Secondary Education /West Bengal Council
    of Higher Secondary Education.
    2. Tentative Date of Test: Mid of May 2012 at the allotted Centers all over the State for paper I &
    paper II Visually handicapped candidates shall be allowed 15 minutes extra time (10 minutes
    extra time for undergraduate category) and separate sitting arrangement shall be made for
    them.
    3. a. Date of collection of Application Form: 29.02.2012 to 15.03.2012 during Banking hours.
    b. Last date of Submission of Application Form duly filled in within 16.03.2012during
    Banking hours. Purchase and submission of application form must be from and to the same
    designated Bank Branch.
    Note: Admission to the Test is purely provisional subject to verification of the candidate’s
    eligibility at various stages.
    4. Fees for examination: Application Form & Brochure: Rs. 250/- for General candidates, for
    Physically Challenge (PH) Rs. 100/- and for female candidates Rs.100/-
    THE CANDIDATURE IS LIABLE TO BE CANCELLED AT ANY STAGE IN THE EXAMINATION
    PROCESS OR IN FUTURE, IF IT IS FOUND BY PRACTISING FROUD/MISINFORMATION/FALSE
    DECLARATION PROVIDED BY THE CANDIDATE.
    5. There will be no negative marking. COMPILATION OF THE MARKS OF PAPER-I
    (Subject Test) SHALL BE DONE ONLY FOR THOSE CANDIDATES WHO WILL SECURE THE
    QUALIFYING MARKS (60%) IN PAPER- II (OMR/MCQ). HOWEVER NO RELAXATION
    SHALL BE ALLOWED TO THE CANDIDATES.
    The QUALIFYING MARKS IN Paper-l (Subject Test) is 40% (FORTY PERCENT). Relaxable on
    reasonable grounds Subject wise, Medium wise and Category wise under the provisions of rules of The
    West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission. For Pass and Honourse Category Marks obtained in
    Paper –II shall not be added for preparation of final merit list. There will be no Paper-I
    examination for UG category.
    No mark-sheet shall be issued to the candidates. Answer sheets will be preserved as per rules after
    publication of the Panel and the Waiting List.
    6. Forms for all category of posts are available at the under noted designated branches of U.B.I.
    Bank on payment of the fees during Banking hours.
    Note: PAPER-II questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with
    four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. The Test
    items for Language I will focus on the proficiencies in the elements of language, grammar and
    comprehension abilities related to the medium of instruction, (as chosen from list of prescribed Language
    options in the application form). The Language II will be from among the prescribed options other than
    Language I. The test items in Language II will also focus on the elements of language, grammar and
    comprehension abilities. Choice any two out of three languages (Bengali, English and Urdu).
    C. Posts in Undergraduate Category
    A candidate obtaining 60% of marks in the Written Test on (PAPER- II) will attain the eligibility for the
    evaluation of his/her Answer Script in the subject test mentioned in (PAPER- I) . The final paper
    selection for the recommendation to the post of Assistant Teacher will be determined by summing up the
    marks obtained by the candidate.
