Application Procedure For Admission
1. Issue of Application Forms: Application forms for admission to the above mentioned courses are available from the University Sales Counters - ‘SONARTARI’ after notification in the press.

2. Break of Study Arts Faculty Candidates with break of studies for more than two consecutive academic sessions would not ordinarily be eligible for admission to any of the degree, master’s degree and programmes in Arts Faculty and for degree course in Visual Arts Faculty. Fine Arts : Candidate with break of studies for not more than consecutive five years, but upper age limit for Pre-degree – 23 years, Degree – 25 years, Spl Hons / Master degree – 27 years. 3. Submission of Filled Application Forms
The forms, duly filled in must reach the Concerned Department (for Arts faculty) and the Admission Section for Fine Arts and Visual Arts Faculty of the University on or before the specified dates. Applications received later will not be entertained. (Submission of application forms for admission does not imply any right to admission and selection for admission does not assure accommodation in University hostels) 4. Foreign Students Candidate seeking admission from foreign countries shall be required to appear at a written test/viva-voce to be conducted by the respective departments. If selected he/she has to submit (no-objection certificate) from their country, proper visa, AIDS clearance certificate, equivalencies certificate of the qualification etc. 5. Publication of List of Candidates Selected For Admission Lists of selected candidates, eligible for admission to the above mentioned courses are published in the University Notice Board. (of the concerned department/Admission section) 6. No individual communication will be sent to any candidate. Candidates interested in admission will be required to collect all information regarding interview/test and dates in this regard from the University Notice Board. 7. The list of candidates selected for interview/ written test/ admission will be treated as cancelled as soon as corresponding last dates are over. Some Important Information Regarding Admission : 1. Candidate will have to be present with all original testimonials at the time of admission. 2. No candidate will be allowed admission to two concurred courses in this University or other University (regular/external) in the same calendar year. 3. Admission of a candidate will be cancelled, if any information given by him is found to be wrong or suppressed. 4. In the event of the total number of students admitted in a course viz. B.A. M.A. in the Evening Section falling below twenty (ten for Sanskrit Dept.), such students may be required to attend classes in the Day Section. 5. Candidates who are employed (Govt / Govt Aided) will be considered for admission subject to their submission of ‘No Objection Certificate’, ‘approval letter’ etc. from the employer. 6. Reservation : A certain percentage of seats are reserved in all the courses for SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates as per State Government rules. (SC=22%, ST = 6%, PH = 3%) Candidates have to produce certificate & to be issued by the appropriate Authority. 7. Migration : Students from other Universities are required to submit their Transfer certificate at the time of admission and migration certificate positively within one month from their date of admission. In case of failure their admission is liable to be cancelled.
Declaration Of Students During Admission : Attendance :
Every student has to be present in all the classes. At least he/she has to acquire following percentage of attendance to seat in the examination as Collegiate / non-collegiate student. (Discollegiate students will not be allowed).

Re-admission:Re-admission is not a matter of right. Discollegiate Students may be re-admitted subject to the fulfillment of the conditions and approval of the Authority. 1. Minimum Attendance for re-admission :
i) 25% & above but below 55% for students of Arts & Fine Arts except B.ED & BLISc
ii) 40% & above but below 75% for students of Visual Arts Faculty
2. Re-admission will be allowed in the next year within one month from the last date of Form-Filling of the concerned examination.
3. Generally, no student will be allowed for taking re-admission for more than one time in a particular course of study.
Attendance for Class Promotion :
Where there is no public examination in the 1st year and class promotion depends upon the internal (departmental) report, then students have to attend at least 35% of the classes in the 1st year for getting admission in 2nd year. Declaration of the Student
